Employment Lawyer in Dallas, Texas
At the Law Office of Walter S. Cowger, I have protected the rights of individuals and businesses since 1976 and have represented clients in Texas for more than 20 years. I take an old-fashioned approach to lawyering, working one-on-one with you throughout the legal process, taking the time to learn the specific details of your case, so that I can formulate the most effective strategy to get the outcome you want. I understand concerns about the cost of quality legal representation, and I pay close attention to your budget, minimizing the impact on your bottom line.
I was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1951. My grandfather practiced law there for 50 years, which is why I decided to become a lawyer. I went to college at Yale and law school at the University of Virginia. I practiced with the firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP, first in Washington D.C., and then in Dallas. I was a partner in the firm for 15 years, from 1987 to 2002, when I left it to open my own practice.
I have been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization since 1996. I am also AV-rated by my colleagues in the legal profession under Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Rating System*, in addition to having been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine every year since 2005.
